Patriots Make History! 16-0

The New England Patriots started the 2007 season facing great adversity. In early September Bill Belichick and the Pats were accused of cheating. They used a video camera to steal signals and otherwise violate league rules. Coach Belichick was fined $500,000, the largest fine ever imposed on a NFL head coach. The team was fined an additional $250,000 and they had to forfeit they're first round draft pick in the 08' draft.

Several hours ago they made history; they are the only team to have gone 16-0 during the regular season. Who was the last team to go undefeated in a single season? The 72' Dolphins and that was when the season only lasted 14 games.

New England ended they're perfect season with a thrilling 4th quarter comeback victory over the New York Giants. Both Tom Brady and Randy Moss broke individual records. Brady has past Peyton Manning's 49 touchdown passes with 50. Randy Moss broke Jerry Rice's record for 22 touchdown catches. To top the record breaking night off, the Pats finished the season with an astounding 589 points this season... and yes, that is another single season record.

All hats off to the Giants, they played extremely well all evening long. They had already clinched a play-off spot coming into tonight's game at (10-6), however. From the minute they set foot on the field they challenged the Pats in every faucet of the game, but in the end fell to New England 38-35.

A killer ending to an incredible regular season. Of course tonight's win won't mean nearly as much if they don't win the next 3 games. It all goes to show how bogus the entire " cheating scandal " was. You can't be called a cheater for innovating something that is already done. The whole organization has done a magnificent job this season. The deserve all the credit in the world, I hope to see them cap it off with a Super Bowl victory.

All hail New England.

New England prevails to 15-0

The Pats are only one win shy of perfection; excluding the Super Bowl of course, with their win over Miami at Foxboro today.

The New England Patriots are on track for what may prove to be the best NFL football season period. With only the New York Giants left to play, they are on track for a perfect 16-0 regular season. Tom Brady and Randy Moss are set to break individual records and the team may very well end up having the highest scoring season in history. What else can be said about Tom Brady and the Pats? They cheat?

Brady threw three touchdown passes today, including two to Randy Moss. Lawrence Maroney ran for a career-high 156 yards on 14 carries, which included a 59 yard run for a touchdown. That touchdown run also happened to be one of New England's longest gains this season.

Can the Patriots be beaten? Saturday night's game is probably the most difficult game they will have played in weeks. With New York 9-5, they're obviously fighting for a playoff berth. The Pats will continue to take " one game at a time " and seemed to have thrived on the adversity in the beginning weeks of the season. Is it fair to say, cheating or not cheating ; if you can even call it that, they are hands down the best NFL team around?

Bowden and FSU 36 players short for bowl game!

Florida State Seminoles will travel to the Music City Bowl short thirty-six players. Twenty-five of those involved in an ongoing investigation of academic misconduct. Four of the seven starting offensive lineman were among those to not make the trip. A total of thirteen starters wont play on the 31st of December.

Read the entire article at ESPN

I think if one-third of your team's roster is ineligible for involvement in an academic cheating scandal, failing a drug test or any other sort of misconduct ; you have no choice but to let them play. How could you even conceive the idea of taking away their shot at a bowl game? The truth is, most of the kids on the roster will never see an opportunity like this again.

How often do college kids look for a short cut while in school? Often, and even more often do kids experiment with marijuana and occasionally other drugs. If players on the FSU football team made any of these mistakes, then punish them after the big game. Suspend them from a few regular season games next season, put them on academic probation or make them re-take the particular classes. Don't take away everything they've worked for with the snap of a finger.

You go to college to better yourself and to open a new chapter in life. This would most likely be the most memorable experience of their college careers. To take it away from them for a single mistake seems, well, heartless. Since when do kids in college not make mistakes? After all they've invested into school and the team? This is obviously a chance for the FSU authority to make a statement.

"Don't fuck with our policy or we will squash your future" I hate it when overzealous authority figures rule with an iron fist and no compassion!

It took an entire season of keeping on the up and up to make it to a bowl game. The situation would be totally different if it was a regular season game.

It's sad, the poor kids studied, trained and maintained focus all year long just to have all their work thrown away. What makes it worse, the man who probably made the final decision to leave them behind never saw this opportunity from a player's perspective.

Hatton Knocked Out in the 10th!

First of all, Referee Cortez was involved far too much in the fight tonight. I know you can't base the outcome of a fight on a referee, but I think it's safe to say he changed Hatton's game plan. Mayweather fights best in open ring situations, not up close or pushed into the corner. Cortez stopped most of the tight battles from ever taking place, having more to do in rounds 2-5  then both fighters!

That being said, Mayweather out-punched Hatton throughout the entire fight. Ricky Hatton seemed to have rushed the fight and was looking to out brawl his opponent. Unfortunately Floyd Mayweather ducked or dodged 90 percent of every punch Hatton threw. Floyd came on strong in the 9th round landing accurate straight right hands to the face. As the 10th came to a close, Floyd landed a huge left hook that sent The Hitman to the floor. After an eight count, Hatton regained his balance and headed back toward Floyd, only to get hit by another 2 left hooks and stumble backward to the canvas. The ref called the fight at 2:59 into the 10th round.

After the fight the Pretty Boy was quoted saying " I wont let boxing retire me, I'll retire from boxing. " Mentioning he wont be back for a 2008 or 2009 fight. To my surprise he gave credit to his foe and all of the UK fans for coming over to watch the fight, even after being booed by Hatton's fans all night. Now speaking of fans, Hatton obviously has the most loyal fans of any boxing professional... standing by his side before and after his loss.

A good fight, slowed only by the referee, ended in a knock out. With the Filthy Rich Mayweather retaining his belt and remaining undefeated.
